Her Mad Hatter Review

Title: Her Mad Hatter

Author: Marie Hall

Book: (Kingdom, #1)

Pages: 129

Rating: 4.5/5

I loved this book despite the sex scenes...but whatever. As you can tell by the cover there is the Mad Hatter, Alice, and romance in Wonderland.
Alice has a life, she runs a cupcake with a Wonderland theme. She has been obsessed with Wonderland since she was a child. The Mad Hatter in particular. So when a fairy godmother shows up she has a hard time believing that what she's seeing is real.
The Hatter has tried to find his mate so many times that he's given up hope to ever find his Alice. When his godmother chooses this Alice he is angrier than ever because she is the granddaughter of the Alice he had fallen in love with. The Alice that betrayed his heart and everyone else.
With only three days left to save him from going insane Alice does her best to prove to Hatter that she really does care for him. After all he did save her life when she was younger. He just doesn't remember her...yet.
He falls hard for her but he know it cannot last. Every Alice has left him, so why should she be any different? When they sleep together the Hatter knows that she is the only one for him, but will Wonderland accept her? When it doesn't Alice flees heartbroken and alone only to discover she's been gone three months and that her brain cancer is back again. This time, though, the doctors can't save her.
The Hatter cannot leave Wonderland and knows that it was him that kept Wonderland from accepting her. His love for her was all it took.
Was all that the fairy godmother went through to save the Hatter from madness in vain? Does Alice truly love the Hatter? What will happen to him if she dies? What will happen to Wonderland?
I truly loved this book and finished it quickly. Oh yeah! I got a Kindle for Christmas and I managed to get this book for free...along with quite a few other books. Whenever I do a review on a book that is free, trust me, I'll tell you. Hope you enjoy the book!

About The Author

Marie Hall is a USA Today Bestselling author and has always held a dangerous fascination for creatures that go bump in the night. And mermaids. And of course fairies. Trolls. Unicorns. Shapeshifters. Vampires. Scottish brogues. Kilts. Beefy arms. Ummm... Bad boys! Especially the sexy ones.
Then the day came she realized apart from the sexy bad boy she married, there'd be no vampires/shapeshifters/mermaids/fairies/or even stinky trolls in her future unless she wrote about them. More often than not she can be found roaming the wild, lush tropical forest she calls her backyard (a.k.a. Hawaii) and day dreaming constantly about her latest project.

On top of that she's a confirmed foodie, she nearly went to culinary school and then figured out she could save a ton of money if she just watched food shows religiously! She's a self-proclaimed master chef, certified deep sea dolphin trainer, finder of leprechaun's gold at the end of the rainbow, and rumor has it she keeps the Troll King locked away in her basement. All of which is untrue, however, she does have an incredibly active imagination and loves to share her crazy thoughts with the world!
Her Mad Hatter is the first book of her Kingdom Series.

All Our Yesterdays Review

Title: All Our Yesterdays

Author: Cristin Terrill

Book: (All Our Yesterdays, #1)

Pages: 368

Rating: 5/5

Happy Christmas Eve! Woohoo! Sorry, I'm in a happy mood despite the fact that I have to work tonight! At least I don't have to work tomorrow! WOOPWOOP! Sorry, let me get on with the review...I'm not into the whole time travel thing but I really liked this book. It was a bit odd because time travel always leaves me confused but I hung in there till the very end and I'm glad I did.
Em and Finn have been locked in a secret military base where they are tortured for information. One day Em decides to find out what is in the drain that haunts her every day. What she finds is a list. A list of things she has done in the past to try and prevent the time machine being invented. The only thing is that she went back in time with Finn to do so and they have failed every single time. The only thing left on the list is to kill the doctor. The very man who started it all.
Marina, James, and Finn were all friends on the night that James's brother was shot. After that night though James would never be the same. With the future changing because of the things Em and Finn are doing, things are being discovered for the first time. Like who really killed James's brother and why.
While James, Marina, and Finn look for answers a more sinister force is happening. Marina has been in love with James since they'd met but he'd never seen her as anything other than a sister until the night he meets Em and Finn. The future version of Marina and Finn. Everything changes in that one second of time. Will it change the future? No, not yet.
The doctor shows up before Finn and Em can kill James and end the doctor's rule. The doctor (future version of James) is an evil man who threatens to kill the younger versions of Finn and Em before they can kill him.
Will they young James let the new him kill Marina and his best friend? Will Finn and Em complete their mission and save the world from destruction? Who will live? Who will die? What future is there left?
I love the ending so much! I didn't expect it and I even cried when one of the characters died because I thought...oh well I'm not going to spoil anything for you. You'll just have to read it.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review

Title: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Author: J.K. Rowling

Book: (Harry Potter, #6)

Pages: 652

Rating: 4/5

I liked this book and I saw the movie (unfortunately) so I knew what was going to happen. The movie was wrong about some things but sadly right about others. Tell me, who all knew Snape was a traitor? I on the other hand was torn because I wanted to believe he was good.
Harry leaves hi Aunt and Uncle shortly after arriving when Dumbledore comes to get him.  After a stop along the way Harry finds himself safe with the Weasleys and owner of Sirius's old house. On the train to Hogwarts Harry discovers Draco has joined the Death Eaters but (much to his surprise) his friends don't seem convinced.
When he's back in school he becomes obsessed with finding out what Malfroy is doing but he can't follow him so he sends Dobby and Kreacher to tail him. He also has sessions with Dumbledore in which he learns more about Tom Riddle (You-Know-Who) and what it will take to kill him. You-Know-Who has split his soul in 6-7 (not precisely sure) ways and each has to be destroyed before he can be killed for good.
Dumbledore takes Harry with him to find one of the Horcruxes which makes Dumbledore so weak it is Harry that has to get him back to school. (bet he wished he hadn't!) There they find Death Eaters and discover that Malfroy had gotten them in and that Snape was a traitor. Poor Dumbledore trusted him so much!
Will Harry save Dumbledore from his fate? Will the Order come just in time to save him? Or will Dumbledore parish and the school fall into the hands of You-Know-Who?
So sad how it ended and I had to fight back tears at the end! I enjoyed it though but I'm not too pleased at how it ended so that made me take away some points. Sadly Harry has to continue on his journey alone...Or does he? Find out in my review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows!

How To Train Your Dragon Review

Title: How To Train Your Dragon

Year: 2010

Movie: (How To Train Your Dragon #1)

Time: 1hr 30min

Rating: 5/5

So I've watched this movie more times than I am willing to admit because I love it so much! Honestly I just lost track of how many times I have watched it...Oh well! Have any of you seen this wonderful movie?
Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) is an outcast in his tribe because of all the problems he causes. He has never killed a dragon but he wants to. That is, until the morning he catches a Night Fury which no one believes. He sets out to prove that he has indeed caught the never-before-seen Night Fury. When he does find it he discovers that not only can't he kill it, it didn't kill him either.
His father Stoick (Gerard Butler) leaves to try and find the dragons nest and puts Hiccup in dragon training class. Instead of hurting the dragons in class he uses the techniques he learns from Toothless (Night Fury) who he is helping to fly again. Toothless lost part of his tail when he crashed so Hiccup made him a new one and helps him fly since Toothless can't do it alone.
As he becomes more popular the time approaches for the final test in the class. The killing of a dragon. His father comes back and Astrid (America Ferrera) finds out about the dragon but Hiccup shows her that she shouldn't be afraid. When their trip on Toothless turns into a nightmare they find out where the nest is and what controls the dragons. All of them.
Stoick finds out about Toothless after an unfortunate event and learns that 'the beast' (Toothless) knows how to find the nest. He gathers everyone and they go after the nest but Hiccup isn't about to let his whole tribe be killed by the monster in the nest. He gathers everyone he can get and they go after them.
Will they make it in time? What will happen to the beast that rules the dragons? Who, if anyone, dies? What happens to Hiccup and Toothless?
So since it's a DreamWorks movie you can probably already guess about the ending. I won't ruin it for you though. I love this movie and hope you agree! :D

Frozen Movie Review

Title: Frozen

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 41min

Rating: 5/5

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but between work and studying...plus with the crappy internet service I get...I haven't had time to post much. So let me say that I fell in love with the music a few days before I'd even seen the movie, and Let It Go is still my favorite song by far. My parents loved this movie too because it wasn't the classical princess searching for true love. That's something right! Oh and if you don't want spoilers I recommend that you do not read this!
Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) are princesses left all on their own after their parents were lost at sea. The sisters (once close) were pulled apart by Elsa's fear. Anna doesn't know why Elsa won't talk to her anymore because her memory was changed in order to save her life. See Elsa can control snow and ice and she accidentally struck Anna in the head with her magic.
Now the gates to the castle are opening for the first time in years for Elsa's coronation as queen and Anna couldn't be happier to be free for a little while. She hopes to find true love and meets a handsome and somewhat clumsy Hans (Santino Fontana) who steals her heart. But when Elsa won't give them her blessing Anna fights with her and Elsa's powers are revealed to the whole town when the kingdom is frozen in an eternal winter. Elsa runs into the mountains where she is determined to stay so as to prevent any further harm.
Anna sets out on a journey to find her sister and end the winter but needs the help of Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and his reindeer Sven. They make it up the mountain with a lot of luck but they meet Olaf (Josh Gad) on the way. Olaf is the snowman the two princesses made when they were smaller. Once they make it to Elsa's ice palace Anna goes in alone but is struck in the heart by Elsa's magic. With Elsa not realizing what she had done she throws them out and Kristoff takes Anna to the trolls for help saving her life.
Unable to do anything for her Kristoff has to get Anna back to Hans, her true love. He leaves her at the castle and sets off but what he doesn't know is that Hans had tricked her and instead of being in love with her Hans was really just after the throne. Leaving her to die Hans sets off to kill the only thing between him and the throne, Elsa. He had her in a prison but she escaped in another storm.
Anna sets out to find Kristoff her real true love but finds Hans about to kill the crying Elsa who thought Anna was dead.
Who does she choose to save? Herself? Or Elsa? Will the kingdom be saved from the endless winter?
I loved this movie and though it is a cartoon for kids I am still a kid at heart so I will continue to watch cartoons. I hope you feel the same.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Review

Title: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Author: J.K. Rowling

Book: (Harry Potter, #5)

Pages: 870

Rating: 4.5/5

Agh! I hated one of the characters so much I thought I was going to go mad! I mean who can honestly ignore the signs the You-Know-Who is coming back? *sigh* Alas I was able to make it through without too much hair pulling. I found I enjoyed it quite a bit when the toad wasn't involved.
Harry (once again) is having a boring summer till the day he and Dudley are attacked. (one of the signs that You-Know-Who is coming back...the Ministry lost 50 points!) They survive but the Ministry of Magic is holding a hearing for Harry on whether to sentence him...(I think to Azkaban). Dumbledore gets him off  and Harry learns about The Order of the Phoenix which was created long ago to battle He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Sirius is involved and Harry, Hermione, Ron, etc. spend time in Sirius's house where the Order resides.
When they get to school they find they have a new professor who is a evil evil woman! Professor Umbridge wants no mention of You-Know-Who and gives horrible punishments to Harry for mentioning his name. She wants him to stop spreading "lies" so she makes his life a living hell. Not to mention that the O.W.L.s are coming up. When Ron's dad is attacked they head back to Sirius's house for the holidays and to take care of Ron's dad. (Harry saw him get attacked by a snake in a vision which means another 50 points are taken from the Ministry!)
Sadly Harry has to go back to Hogwarts to endure through Professor Umbridge (who took over as head of the school when Dumbledore had to flee) and the O.W.L.s that sneak their way closer. When Harry has a dream of Sirius being attacked and tortured he has to find a way to get there and help. But how can he do this when everyone he can tell are gone?
Will they get away from Umbridge and save Sirius? Or is this just a trap meant to gain You-Know-Who a weapon?
Ok I did love it but I must say I was terribly disappointed when one of my favourite characters died! I mean I loved that character! The rest of the book was great though slow in some parts. I'll do a review on the next book when I finish it! :D

Thanksgiving Review

Title: Thanksgiving

Author: Janet Evanovich

Pages: 228

Rating: 4.5/5

The romance was a bit too fast but I really loved it! It made me laugh, which doesn't happen unless I'm reading something by this author! Janet Evanovich is a superb writer and I love reading anything by her!
Megan makes pottery and dresses up in a colonial costume on weekends for her part time job in town. She meets Pat quite by accident. See his rabbit Tibbles escapes and chews her skirt and so their story begins. She finds the rabbit once again and takes it back to Pat. Then a girl shows up and believing that Pat and Megan are married she leaves her son Tim (just born a few months ago...or more) with them. Pat is a paediatrician so the mother thought he could take care of her child.
Megan gets stuck with the baby because Pat has to work but she enjoys Timmy. She and Pat grow closer and begin to share a bed (don't worry there aren't too many juicy details!) as they fall hard for each other. Both of their parents show up and spend Thanksgiving with each other while the mothers talk about a Christmas wedding. Too fast! Besides Pat hasn't even asked her yet.
When Tilly comes back for her baby she brings the father with her saying they are to be married soon. (awww!) So now Megan has not only been dumped twice at the alter, she has had the baby she loves taken from her. Now she definitely wants Pat to marry her so they can have children but he is scared of failing to live up to expectations. So he makes a mistake and her ex-fiancé shows up in town ruining everything for them.
She may be in love with him but she is scared of being left again. After all he has already broken her heart by not wanting to marry her.
Will they be together in the end? What will bring them back together? Will everything end with a happily ever after?
I totally loved this book! It was a great read and I recommend it to everyone who loves romance and comedy because it has a perfect combination of both! :D

The Flame of Olympus Review

Title: The Flame of Olympus

Author: Kate O'Hearn

Book: (Pegasus, #1)

Pages: 385

Rating: 5/5

I found this book on accident at Wal-Mart and once I read the jacket I knew I had to have it. I must say that I don't regret buying it! It is a great book though as many times as I've read it I am still not sure how old the main character is...if you find out please tell me!
Emily lives in an apartment with her dad. A huge storm hits New York City and her father is called in since he is a cop. So left alone in the apartment (since her mother died of cancer 3 months ago) Figuring part of something had fallen from a higher building she goes up there to inspect the damage. What she finds changes her whole world. What she finds is a very hurt Pegasus. The Pegasus from myth.
Knowing she needs help to take care of him she sets off to find a classmate that she thinks might help Pegs. Joel is skeptical but he comes anyway and he realizes that it wasn't a trick. Together they help Pegs as best they could but before Pegs is completely healed the Nirads attack the building. Now instead of just Pegs being hunted so is Emily.
Not only do they discover that there are monsters in New York but they learn that not one but two other Olympians are in NY too. Palen (other perspective) has been captured by the CRU who specialize in extra-terrestrial tech and want Palen to answer questions. Of course since Palen isn't an alien he plays them to the point that he almost escapes. He doesn't, but then he decides that since Pegasus and the rest are about to be captured staying put is the best option to help them.
Emily, Joel, Diana (Olympian), and Emily's father (Steve) try to smuggle Pegasus out of the city but are caught and taken to CRU headquarters (torture and testing site). Pegs is dying so Emily does what she can to help him but he needs to get out of there and find the one thing that can save Olympus from total destruction. The Flame of Olympus resides inside the heart of a girl. That is why Pegasus is there, not that she can tell that to the CRU. Palen helps devise a plan but Steve isn't on the compound (very suspicious!) he cannot help him.
When the Nirads attack the compound will they all get back to Olympus and save the day? Who is the Flame? Where is Emily's dad? Will Olympus fall into total ruin?
So I did guess correctly on every bit of this book but I haven't read the second book so I still have no idea what has happened to the father in the story. So frustrating! What do you think? Do you thing that her father works for the CRU? I do! But then again I have been wrong before...Anyway don't be perturbed by my being able to guess correctly! I read too much anyway! It is still a great book! :D

Naughty Neighbor Review

Title: Naughty Neighbor

Author: Janet Evanovich

Pages: 229

Rating: 5/5

So I swiped this book from my mom but she will (hopefully) not read this post. She's never read them before so I doubt she will.
Louise works around the clock but has no social life outside talking to her parents. Now she has to deal with Pete Streeter getting called in the middle of the night waking her up. When Pete shows up at a party for her boss she gets fired the next day for being connected to him.
So now she is out to get even by teaming up with Pete (who's a screenwriter) who knows why they fired her. It was over a pig! A pig went missing after getting sick and Pete is determined to figure out the story. Even if he could get shot. They begin to feel for one another as the truth begins to fall into place.
Lou goes undercover to find things out but it places her life in danger. Pete falls hard in love with her and proposes which freaks her out. With help from a friend of Pete's they get proof on the bad guys and Pete leaves for California to help the movie producers make his movie.
Will she go with him? Does she truly love him enough to go after him if she leaves? Do they end up together?
Loved this book because it made me laugh so much! I needed that after the disappointment of reading Allegiant. Gosh that book was awful! But this writing was great and I recommend it to everyone! :D

Allegiant Review

Title: Allegiant

Author: Veronica Roth

Book: (Divergent, #3)

Pages: 526

Rating: 1.5/5

So this book starts off where it left off in the second book. At the beginning it is a bit better than the second book but soon it just gets predictable and slow.
Tris and Four have sworn to each other that they will keep no more secrets from each other. After what Tris did with his father they need to be able to trust each other. Together they flee the dissolving factions, that are ruled by Evelyn (Four's mother), with a few other people who want to see what the outside world holds for them.
The barely escape and find a world filled with people who believe in the perfect genes. The genes that all Divergent's have. Four discovers that he is flawed. He's not a Divergent like he thought. Nita (a scientist working for the Bureau) has a secret that she shares with Four. The GP (genetically pure) is just a myth. No matter what genes you have, no one is perfect. She shows him a world outside the compound where there has always been war. He brings Tris in on a plan to take away some power from the Bureau but Tris doesn't buy that the plan is the actual plan. Four believes Nita and goes through with the plan only to find out (after Uriah is put into a coma) that Tris was right. Tris saved David (the man who runs the Bureau) and many more lives since Nita wanted to steal the death serum. NOT the truth serum like Four thought.
Now Tris forms her own plan to disrupt the Bureaus plan to wipe Chicago's memories and start the test again. While Four goes back to stop a war Tris has to face the death serum herself and survives it. But will she survive the man who caused all of these deaths, Daniel? The answer is...NO!
Four comes back and finds her dead but life goes on...unfortunately. Chicago evolves and everything goes back to the way it was before everyone became obsessed with the GP gene.
This book was so not supposed to end like this! After reading the other two books you'd think that the author would have the common decency to let the two main characters to end up together! WTH! it was a good book but if anyone is going to read this series please only read the first book! Much better than the rest of the series. Oh and they tell it from Four's and Tris's point of view but I dare you to distinguish between the two as you read. I dare you! It's just not possible! Sorry if I ruined the book you are about to or have gotten but you need to know about the book before hand.

Thor: The Dark World Review

Title: Thor: The Dark World

Year: 2013

Time: 1hr 51min

Rating: 5/5

So I got to see this movie two days after it came out since I had to work late on the Friday it came out. I don't mind. Really I don't since it was worth waiting for. It was an amazing movie and can't wait till it comes out on DVD or Blu-ray! Everyone that has watched the Marvel movies really have to watch Thor: The Dark World! You won't regret it!
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is cleaning up the mess that Loki (Tom Hiddleston) has made of all the realms. But he misses the woman he loves. Jane is the only thing on him mind and he can't enjoy even the celebrations of winning battles. (poor guy! we get to see him shirtless! *swoon)
Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) has never given up hope that Thor would come back to her. Even though he didn't bother to contact her when he was in New York (Avengers movie). She, Darcy and Darcy's assistant find something strange. Jane vanishes for five hours after being sucked into another world where the Ether takes hold in her body. The Ether has the power to bring darkness to all the realms. The very thing that the Dark Elves want to happen. The same ones that are supposed to be dead. They have been waiting for all nine realms to align for over a thousand years. Now it is their time to fight back.
Thor takes Jane to Asgard where the Dark Elves attack trying to get the Ether from her body. They fail but they hover threateningly over Asgard waiting for the right time. Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) is the ruling Dark Elf. Thor has to trust Loki to help him and Jane get out of Asgard and to Malekith's home planet. After that Malekith takes the Ether out of her and Thor tries to destroy the Ether once and for all. They fail miserably and in the end Loki dies and they are left trapped on that world.
When they do manage to get back to Earth they have to face a Malekith who controls the Ether and who is closer than ever to bringing all the realms back to the darkness. Anything is possible till the worlds go out of alignment. It is a race against time and space for them.
Will the world be lost? Will Thor be able to stay with Jane? Who all dies in the movie? Is Loki really dead??
I loved the portals at the end of this movie. They were so funny and brought many things into the world. I loved every minute of it...well except for the two women beside me that insisted on being heard over the action. Whether they were laughing, crying, or saying "I don't like him!" (they said that 2X!). Who cares what they think about Loki!? Who doesn't love Loki? I mean he's my favourite character. Sorry Thor! :D Oh! Stay till after the credits! You don't want to miss the ending now do you?!

Chasing Midnight Review

Title: Chasing Midnight

Author: Susan Krinard

Book: (Vampire/Werewolf Trilogy, #1)

Pages: 488

Rating: 3/5

I found this book while I was getting Born to be Wild and though it is a bit long in places it was a good book. Not the type of good I'm usually used to but it was worth the $1.25 I paid for it. That is saying way too much! XD I kept expecting someone in the book to pull out a cell phone or be older but it took place way too early (1920's) for that to happen.
Allegra (Allie) is a vampire with a secret no one knows. She can walk in the sun! She has human friends and sucks blood from her bedroom partners (one in an alley! EEEWWW!). One thing that she never thought would happen was for her to fall hard for a man. A werewolf to be precise. Now she can't seem stop thinking about him despite that she told him that she was just playing a mind trick on him. She really does care for the man that she barely knows.
Griffin is wealthy and would do anything for his sister (Gemma) except for letting her out of his house and into the world. See they are both werewolves and he is scared she'll loose it in public so he wants to marry her off to some nice rich man and have a comfortable life. When she runs away he finds her under the protection of Allie. The woman he hasn't been able to get out of his head.
He figures out there is much more to her than he had originally thought but he decides to stay away just like she does. One night they are searching for Mal (who is searching for Margot) and they walk into a gun fight where they get separated. When he finds her again she is something horrible and sickening. Even in his horror he returns to her apartment, the place she'd fled to, and found her near death.
He saves her life but he also wants her to marry him, which she cannot do. When he leaves they are thrown back together by Raoul (Master of the vampires) who wants Allie for himself. Together they have to save the ones they love from harm but Allie has a plan that completely throws Griffin.
She runs from him and meets the real threat. The one who started all of the balls rolling.
What will happen to their love? Who is the real threat? Will Griffin get to her in time to save her? Who will Allie belong to when everything is said and done?
This book is definitely long but I persevered and enjoyed it. Honestly I have read better romance in pathetically awful books than was in this book. I mean c'mon! I will just have to deal with it but I hate how the characters can fight and fight while wanting to sleep together at the same time. Talk about wrong! I must say you can skip this book if you ever come across it. I just did because I was bored and my mother has started hoarding my books from me since I need to retake the ACT and take the GED for the first time once I turn seventeen. I long for and dread December! She wants me to retake the ACT (despite the fact that I passed) and get the best score possible to get into a good college. I understand but I really want my books! I had them in my hands and she took them from me before I could read them! O.O

Born to be Wild Review

Title: Born to be Wild

Author: Christine Warren

Book: (Novels of the Others, #15)

Pages: 325

Rating: 4/5

Don't worry about it being the fifteenth in the series! It is just about the same topic as the others in the series. The characters (I believe) are different. I found this in Dollar General since I had nothing else to do until the Post Office opened. I even ended up enjoying it despite the sex scenes. Yes, there were quite a few (3 or more I think) in the book but it didn't change my love for the book.
Josie is just a normal vet caring for her patients till one night Sheriff Eli Pace burst carrying a wounded Lupine for her to take care of. She has never taken care of Others before but she is determined to help this Lupine. When the Lupine's husband (Bill) shows up they learn that her name is Rosemary and soon after both of the Lupine's are infected with some sort of virus and unable to change into human form.
While this is going on Eli discovers that Josie is his mate and he falls hard for her. Their relationship progresses after a few days and they move into the bedroom. Josie never though she'd fall for a Feline. Especially not Eli Pace but that is exactly what is happening. When they are attacked in bed Eli fights and wins against the human but the two of them get into a fight. (silly stuff) After that she gets a call saying that Bill has escaped and something terrible has happened to Rosemary.
Eli's doctor friend (Steve) from the army shows up and they find that the strain of virus has not only been created only to hurt Lupines, but another strain targets Felines also. Now is the time the mad scramble sets in to find the men responsible for this and to find a cure before it's too late.
Will they make it in time? Who dies? Will Others now become a danger to the world? Who will end this?
I loved this book so much! Sure it was a bit slow in parts and the arguments were so weird (no I love you but you don't have to say anything yet. pishposh!) but the story line was good. Some of the sections of the book were confusing but that was because I was not sure what was going on and I am not a doctor of any kind. I am so glad I found this book though! :D

About The Author

Born and raised in coastal New England, Christine Warren lived in the South and the Mid-Atlantic before hopping to the other side of the country to take up the life of a transplant in the Pacific Northwest. She completely bypassed those states in the middle due to her land locking phobia. Hmm, need to research a scientific term for that...
When not scrambling frantically to complete her latest writing project, Christine spends most of her time as a crazy animal lady, hanging out with her dog Levi (he’s the one with the hair) and pretending to train him to have some manners. She also hangs out with her horse, Cal—a thoroughbred with a craving for strawberry liquorice twists—her good dog, Merlin; and her best friend, fellow author Hannah Murray. In addition to playing with her pets, Christine’s hobbies include identifying dog breeds from photos of their underbellies, appreciating fine and not-so-fine wines, shopping for the perfect pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, and most of all reading things someone else had to agonize over.

Halloween Poem by Spencer

So I wrote this myself and found some random Halloween picture that seemed perfect for the poem. No Spencer isn't my real name but I like it as a nickname so I decided to use it.
What do you think of the poem? The picture?
If you can't read it tell me so I can post the poem by itself.
Hope you enjoy!

Shadow of the Mark Review

Title: Shadow of the Mark

Author: Leigh Fallon

Book: (Carrier, #2)

Pages: 305

Rating: 4.5/5

I hate to admit this but the second book was so much better than the first book! I mean I was still laughing at how silly it was all throughout the book just like I was in the first book. But this is a must read though and can't wait to get my hands on the third book. :D
So after Megan was kidnapped everything has to go back to normal. Well as normal as it can be when she can control air. Especially when her power is growing much stronger and is drawing powers, not just from Adam, from Aine and Rian whose powers are drawn to hers now. (what more could happen to poor pathetic Megan?)
Rian starts to date a new girl in school called Chloe and they hit it off but Rian corners Megan and almost kisses her because of their powers. (So messed up!) Adam finds out and so does Hugh (someone from the Order) and he rushes off to look something up. So they are left clueless to how Megan is doing all of this without meaning to.
Then they all go to Sweden because Chloe turns out to be a Knight (people who protect the Marked ones) and because Rian doesn't like that she lied to him. They find, not only Chloe, but a bunch of Knights including Fionn's brother Cu. So they all come go back home where Adam and Megan decide to take it all the way while they are out on the boat. One problem...Megan ends up taking Adam's power, leaving him unconscious.
With help she manages to get his power back to him but they have to stay away from each other. In fact Megan has to stay away from all of them because she is a Cluain and can take all of their powers away from them bringing on the Age of the Fifth.
When the DeRises are all taken by Knox (bad people set on the end of the world or some such fun) Megan is taken by one that they thought was a friend. Turns out the mighty Anu was still alive and hell-bent on making Megan take all of their powers and in turn give them all to her.
Will Megan be able to survive taking all of their powers? Who will be killed in the transfer? Will the Age of the Fifth come to pass? What will Megan do with all of the knowledge given to her? Who dies??
A bit dramatic in the review wasn't I? Oh well I loved the book and suggest (if you didn't like the first book) to read the second book. They (Adam and Megan) still can't do what normal couples do and that in itself is really annoying. After all I've read enough books where the two main characters cannot be together and it gets old really fast. But never mind that because it is a great book!

Jumanji Movie Review

Title: Jumanji

Year: 1995

Time: 1hr 40min

Rating: 5/5

I have watched this movie so many times throughout my life and I must say I never get tired of it. Sure I have watched it too many times but it's a great movie! It used to freak me out but as I grew up I saw that all of it was too hokey to be real.
Alan Parrish (Robin Williams) and Sarah (Bonnie Hunt) started playing a board game in 1969 that they were never able to finish. Allan was sucked into the board game and Sarah was too scared to try to get him out.
26 years later Judy (Kirsten Dunst) and Peter (Bradley Pierce) move in to the old Parrish house after their parents died. The Parrish house has been abandoned for a very long time so their Aunt Nora (Bebe Neuwirth) believes she can turn it into a bed and breakfast (or something). When the two of them find the game from all those years ago they decide to sit down and play it. Little did they know they were in for quite a surprise.
They free Alan from the game and together they find Sarah who is needed to finish the game. Once there is a winner (you see) everything that came out of the game will go away. But before they can finish the game poisonous mosquitoes, angry monkeys, spiders, etc. come out of the game. The worst of them all is Van Pelt (Jonathan Hyde) is a hunter set on killing Alan at all cost. The funny thing is that Van Pelt and Sam Parish (Alan's father) are played by the same man! XD
Will Alan and Sarah be able to finish the game they started so long ago once and for all? Or will the game take over?
I love this movie! I know I've said it a lot in just this one post but it's true! All the actors were fabulous and the story was great. It never had a dull moment! If you haven't seen it I definitely recommend you see this movie!

    Hunting Ground Review

    Title: Hunting Ground

    Author: Patricia Briggs

    Book: (Alpha & Omega, #2)

    Pages: 286

    Rating: 4.5/5

This book follows Cry Wolf and is the 2nd in the Alfa & Omega Novels. So far there are three but I will post on the 3rd later on. Knowing there's a third book kind of gives away the ending...Well I liked this book and it took me quite a while to figure out who the bad guy was. There were many bad guys but I found it hard to believe it was him until I figured out why. Make any sense?
Anna has been mated to Charles for about a month now and they are going up to Seattle, Washington for a conference. Marrok (the Alfa of their pack) wants to let the world know about werewolves and so he was supposed to meet them there to address their concerns. He sends Anna and Charles instead because Charles has a bad feeling about his father going.
Well since she is an Omega (very rare) almost everyone wants her. Whether it be the Beast (very scary guy) or some unknown person who is hiring a hit team of vampires to get a hold of her. Luckily she escapes their first attack but they continue to kill. They kill...haha I'm not spilling the beans. They use some sort of magic (much like the pack magic) to conceal themselves from everyone which makes it hard to prepare for an attack.
As the conference goes on one enemy is revealed but the one who hires vamps is still a mystery. When Anna is kidnapped though Charles will do anything to get her back. Even kill the only ones who can tell him who hired them.
It becomes apparent who the crazy one is (I figured it out a little before the person was revealed) once Charles starts to...well taunt him. Once the madman is taken care one of the old enemies surfaces and tries to kill Charles. It is up to a wounded Anna to save him yet again. Will she be in time though?
I loved this book! It was a bit stressful and I wasn't expecting one of the deaths but it still made for a great read. Make sure to read the first book so you understand what's going on. Trust me when I say you will be lost in places if you don't. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Review

Title: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

    Author: J.K. Rowling

    Book: (Harry Potter, #4)

    Pages: 734

    Rating: 5/5

Let me just say...I loved it! It took a bit longer to read (unfortunately) because I rarely had time to read for a few days. Next let me say that this book (when I found it) was in terrible condition...It had sections falling out and everything! D: How could someone do that to a book? Anyway I enjoyed the book though I had to be very very careful with it so it didn't fall apart again...
Well Harry's at it again! After an almost decent summer in which Dudley had to go on a diet Ron's family shows up for Harry. Needless to say that Ron's brothers played a joke on Dudley in which his tongue...elongated to the point it looked like a snake. (hahaha!  love those boys and their tricks!) The Weaselys take him to the International Quidditch Cup where after the game some strange (spooky) things begin to happen. Leading everyone to wonder if He-Who-Should-Not-Be-Named has come back.
Back at school with his friends once again someone is out to kill Harry. No one actually attacks him but they do put his name in the Goblet of Fire in hopes that he'll be killed. (if only he knew the truth!) Now he has to survive three trials to win the Cup with everyone thinking he put his name in the Goblet. Now instead of three people competing (from different schools) there are now four (Harry's the fourth).
Will Harry win the cup and become a hero? Will everything go back to normal? Or will everything take a twisted turn into something everyone has been dreading?
It was a tad long but it was totally worth it! The end (a little before it) took me by surprise and I pride myself with being able to guess what is coming. Sheesh was I wrong! I'm glad though that it was able to do that. It doesn't happen often enough...
I'm rereading all of the Harry Potter books since I was on so many trains during the trip and because I went to London! Kind of figured I had to read the books again...

    The Madman's Daughter Review

    Title: The Madman's Daughter

    Author: Megan Shepherd

    Book: (The Madman's Daughter, #1)

    Pages: 420

    Rating: 4.5/5

So I really wanted to read this book since it is a remake of The Island of Dr. Moreau and I happened to like that book. I get excited just thinking about it and can't wait to read the second book in the series but have to read The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde yet again!
Juliet Moreau is just a daughter of a famous scientist. Or she was till her father went mad and disappeared leaving behind his daughter and a wife that died after becoming a mistress to a rich man. Now Juliet works at a university cleaning up the labs at night and her only  real friend ends up inviting her to a party with a bunch of rich spoiled boys. They take the girls to the lab and freak when Juliet kills their experiment. After all they were performing torture on a rabbit. As if things can't get worse for her one of the professors tries to take advantage of her and she has to go on the run after she stabs him in the hand, ruining his career.
Luckily she knows where an old friend (Montgomery) is and he is also going to an island where her father is hiding. So she hops on the ship with a bunch of men and animals in hope that she will be excepted by her father when they reach the island. They take on a guy (Edward), who was shipwrecked, before they reach the island. Juliet believes herself to be safe on the island until she figures out just what her father is doing with all of the animals. Turns out her father never gave up on his work. She runs into the woods filled with dangers and Edward ends up finding her, but is that a good thing?
She goes back to the compound where she has to take her drugs. She's ill and the only thing keeping her alive is a certain drug. Montgomery and Edward are both falling for her and she has feeling for both. But is it the right time to fall in love when you are in the middle of a horrific nightmare?
Will the animal/men turn on them? Who is Edward really? What will happen to Juliet and Montgomery? Who will make it off the island alive?
Gah I can't believe I didn't do a review on this book before! It took me long enough to write a review since I read it a long time ago. Or so it seems...It really is a good book though...I hate that the author doesn't judge any of the competitions you can sign up for on her site. I just don't think that's fair! Oh well! You must read the book though since I bet the second book will be fabulous! :D

    As We Lie Dying Review

    Title: As We Lie Dying

    Author: Jess Watkins

    Pages: 9

    Rating: 4/5

Great Halloween story though I wish it had been longer, and ended in a different way. Sadly it didn't so I'm left longing for another book to finish it off. I've written the author and she says this is just a short story and she's not going to write any more on it. So sad!
Madison is just a girl who wants her friend Hannah to stop seeing a troublemaker named Adam. Unfortunately she doesn't want to so Madison gives up. That doesn't stop Rob (Adam's friend) from getting Madison to go out with him.
She has a great time and agrees to go to the Halloween party with all of them though she still has reservations about Adam. When she and her friend get there they find no one.
Madison is pulled into a room by Rob but instead of looking happy to see her he tries to get her to jump out the window and run. By that time it's too late because Madison hears a scream. Her friend's scream. Adam comes in but even though Rob tries to stop him and she tries to run Adam is too fast for her.
So she finds her friend and herself lying on the floor with Adam holding a knife. He stabs Hannah but he still needs Madison to die.
Will he kill her? Why does he need her dead? Will Rob get there in time?
Seriously this needs to be made into a series! Once I get a Nook or a Kindle (which do you all suggest?) I am definitely downloading this...despite the ending. This book comes out on the 24th of October (I think) so look for it when it comes out! :D Hope I didn't give away too much!

    Bloodlines Review

    Title: Bloodlines

    Author: Richelle Mead

    Book: (Bloodlines, #1)

    Pages: 421

    Rating: 4/5

I was given this book by a friend who thought it was no good. I don't know if she ever finished the book or if she just found it slow and boring. It was slow in a lot of places but I enjoyed it!
Sydney is an Alchemist. It's something she thought she always wanted but she discovered that not all vampires are as bad as they seem. She was punished but now she has the chance to change everyone's opinion by protecting the Moroi princes Jill from assassins that would kill her to create civil war in the kingdom. Jill's sister is the Queen and she will only stay on the throne if she has one living relative, which is why Jill needs protection.
So instead of letting her sister Zoe go on the assignment Sydney steps up and forces her way in. Now Sydney is living with Jill in the dorm and taking care of Eddie and Adrian on the side. After all Adrian is a Moroi and Eddie is Jill's guardian (he's also 1/2 vampire and 1/2 human). Sydney learns to blend in though she's never been to a school in her life. She's incredibly smart but not good with people. Jill has a harder time and turns to Lee (another Moroi) who really likes her (despite the age difference. She's 15 and he's 19!).
As their relationship grows Sydney finds out about her "partner" Keith and what exactly he's been up to. Some of the kids at the school have been getting tattoos from a place called Nevermore and the tattoos have special properties that can get you high (bronze ink) or can make you strong and fast (silver ink). The thing is that they are made from vampire blood, a very dangerous thing for humans. Turns out Keith (besides trying to get her in trouble with eveyone) has been taking blood from vampires to get money from spoiled rich kids who want the high.
That's not the only thing that is wrong. Even after Keith is taken away by the Alchemists Sydney is still in danger. But who wants to kill her?
Will Sydney die? What will happen to Jill if Sydney if killed? Who is the real evil one in this story?
So this book is really good and I was rooting for Sydney the whole way through! I can't wait till I get my hands on the next book! :D

    The Clockwork Scarab Review

    Title: The Clockwork Scarab

    Author: Colleen Gleason

    Book: (Stoker & Holmes, #1)

    Pages: 350

    Rating: 3.5/5

So I signed up for this book on goodreads but didn't win so I was left sad and longing for this book to come out as soon as possible. Unfortunately I was out of town when it came out so I was dying to read this book by the time I got home. When I got it I had set my hopes so high that I'm afraid the book didn't live up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong it's still a good book!
Mina Holmes (her uncle is Sherlock Holmes and she is just as smart) and Evaline Stoker (sister to the man who wrote Dracula and she has been chosen to kill vampires) team up to help Irene Adler (who works at the museum and serves the princess) solve a few crimes where the only thing connecting the girls was a clockwork scarab they all had. The scarabs all tie back to the goddess Sekhmet, but what does that mean?
Young girls are being found dead and Mina has to deal with the fact that one of the men (who was at the museum) is from the year 2016 and has a connection to Sekhmet too, but she also has to deal with Inspector Grayling who is the only one who can keep up with her observations.
Evaline has a boy named Pix to worry about since he keeps showing up at inconvenient times and makes her feel alive. As they try to piece together the clues that are left they discover something a lot more sinister is afoot. Ankh (leader of a weird group) is trying to bring Sekhmet back to life and restore the world to what is used to be back when women ruled over men.
Mina and Evaline might have escaped the first time but who will make it out the second time. Why Mina Holmes of course. Now she has she has to chose whether to save Evaline and give up a piece of the four items that Ankh will use to bring Sekhmet back, or she can let Evaline die.
So will the Ankh get the last piece of the puzzle? Will Evaline be yet another sacrifice to the goddess Sekhmet? Who is the Ankh? Do we even find out in this book?
So many questions to answer but how long do I have to wait to get answers to a few of them? Seriously! When will the next book come out? So the romance was kind of lacking (except in Evaline's case, but oh well) I still enjoyed it thought not as much as I was hoping for. Still I am looking forward to reading more by this author. :D

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Review

Title: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

    Author: J.K. Rowling

    Book: (Harry Potter, #3)

    Pages: 435

    Rating: 5/5

So I shouldn't really complain since I have the book but I will since I had to wait a whole day to get started reading it. This book's binding was falling apart (not as badly as the fourth book was) so my father had to fix it up. Luckily he did a good job but I was dying to read the book by the time I was allowed to open it!
So the summer goes pretty well considering how his summers usually go...that is until his Aunt (no blood relation) shows up with her evil bulldog Ripper. When she begins to criticize Harry's parents Harry looses control and uses magic on her. He takes all his stuff and runs away but he is soon found by the Ministry of Magic and... forgiven! He never saw that coming! So he stays hidden until school starts and he can go back with his friends Ron and Hermione. What he didn't know (until he overheard it) was that a crazy wizard was out to kill Harry.
He gets to school and Hermione starts acting funny along with her new cat and Ron's rat. Something is going on but all Harry wants is to go to the town with the rest of the third years. He manages! :D
Anyway Sirius Black is apparently Harry's godfather and Professor Lupin is a friend of Harry's father. Ron's rat is a traitor and Professor Snape wants their blood. (doesn't he always want somebody dead??) When Sirius is captured and sentenced to have his soul sucked out of him it is up to Harry and Hermione to save him. Why? Because he isn't the bad guy in this story. How? Hermione has a secret!
Will they be able to pull off the closest stunt in history? Will they save two lives? Or will Snape have them both expelled from school for good and let Sirius die?
Loved Sirius Black! XD I know I'm pathetic but I really do! Even when I didn't know he was a bad guy I still rooted for him though I didn't understand what was going on with him. This book was totally worth the wait!
