Sweet Evil Review

Title: Sweet Evil

Author: Wendy Higgins

Book: (The Sweet Trilogy, #1)

Pages: 447

Rating: 5/5

I absolutely adored this book! I never knew I could be jealous of a fictional character once again since I have so many fictional character crushes. (Ren, Caspian, Puck, Adam, Cole, Jem, etc. and now Kaidan and Kopano!) How many fictional guys will I be in love with by the end of the year? Why aren't there guys like this in the real world? D: So not fair!
Anna is a good girl. No drugs or any substance addictions which makes her very unpopular. Her one and only friend (Jay who is a super cool bestfriend) takes her to a concert where she meets the drummer Kaidan Rowe. The only one who doesn't give off and aura so she doesn't know what he's feeling (kind of like Evermore huh?). They meet again when a boy slips her X and is about to take advantage of her. Luckily he saves her from that and within minutes the drugs are out of her system. (drugs don't last as long for her as they do for humans...COOL!)
Then she learns she had an angel for a mother and a demon for a father but only her father is still alive. He's in jail though! The only time she ever saw him was when she was born which unnervingly she remembers a bit further back than that. Weird! When she learns this she and her adoptive mother (Patti) plan to go to California to see the nun who was there and wanted to speak to Anna. Unfortunately Patti can't go but Kaidan steps in and takes her instead. (such a bad idea!) Anyway they make it to California with a few close calls in the bedroom (if you know what I mean!) and she gets to meet her father who is nothing like she thought he would be.
With their attraction growing stronger Kaidan pushes her away and tells her never to see him again. (she's real likely to do so isn't she?) So she does her best to stay away and meets four others like her. She feels attracted to Kopano (I mean who wouldn't!) and he for her but her heart still belongs to Kaiden. When she is forced to "work" for her dad she is in for quite a ride. After all she has been denying the urges to drink and do drugs her whole life. The day after that night all of her kind and the Dukes (demons or fallen angels... whichever you prefer) are to meet in good old NYC for a conference. (what could possibly go wrong? *eye roll*)
Will they all discover what she is? Will they kill her? Will Kaidan and/or Kopano step in? Or will something completely unexpected happen?
Ohmysweetgoodness I hated the ending! Cliff-hangers are not my thing especially one like that! After all I am a romantic...It was an fantastic book! I seriously hope that our guardian angels don't follow us everywhere though. It's kind of a creepy thought...I so can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series!!! :D Though now that I've read the synopsis I'm not too sure it will be too good...Hate love triangles!
