Insurgent Review

Title: Insurgent

Author: Veronica Roth

Book: (Divergent, #2)

Pages: 525

Rating: 2/5

Insurgent starts out good but gradually it gets more and more predictable. Though the ending was kind of a shock the rest of it I guessed back in book one. Tris and Four have to trust his dad who is a traitor and his mother is a rebel leading nutcase. They both want the destruction of Erudite which Tris cannot allow to happen. Information has to be saved and she's the only one who knows it exists. Tris and Four's attraction threatens to fall apart as the book progresses. Trust is threatened and lives are lost.
Will Tris and Four be able to stop the chaos that threatens in the third book?
It's definitely one book you can skip. All you have do is go to the bookstore and read the end to be all caught up since there is nothing of real importance in the book. It's kind of a bore though I found myself yelling "NO!" a bunch of times. I can't wait to see if the third one is better or worse!

Divergent Review

Title: Divergent

Author: Veronica Roth

Book: (Divergent, #1)

Pages: 487

Rating: 5/5

Divergent is a great book and will have you choosing a faction to side with in no time.
Tris is a girl who is figuring out what she is exactly and whether she's made a mistake. She chose to leave her house, her home, and her family all for a faction where she doesn't truly know what to expect. A faction where you are ranked and don't know where you stand with your opponents. She is a Divergent and it puts her in danger if anyone found out. She might not be the only one.
I mean I didn't ruin anything by saying she's Divergent! The book is about her and is called Divergent. Kind of obvious don't you think?!
Four is an instructor for Dauntless that helps train the new arrivals so they have a shot at making it through initiation alive. He is great with computers and hides many secrets about his past.
As initiation continues Tris and Four find more and more enemies. As their attraction grows an unexpected war looms ahead waiting for the right time to strike. Together they are the only ones who can do anything about it.
I have read many books since but this used to be my absolute favorite! Don't get me wrong! This is still a great book! I love the way Four struggles to stay away but his attraction towards Tris pulls them together again and again.
This book is one you'll want to read again and again! I love this book and hopefully you will agree with me.

Poison Review

Title: Poison

Author: Bridget Zinn

Pages: 276

Rating: 4.5/5

The book Poison was written by Bridget Zinn who died shortly after the book was published. It is a great book that is up there on my list of must reads.
Kara is a brilliant potioner. Her life has been pretty normal till the day she tries to kill her best friend, the princess. As she tries to avoid being captured she has to turn to an unexpected ally. Can he be trusted though? She is forced to travel with a piglet (Rosie) who can lead her to the princess, who has disappeared. On her hunt for her friend she meets up with a handsome man and his dog.
Fred is a fun-loving guy who is quick to make a joke. He is the kind of guy who would do anything to make his friends laugh. He meets Kara quite by accident and continues to stick with her as they travel.
As secrets are discovered and monsters are uncovered Kara and Fred must fight to prevent the death of the kingdom. Who can they trust? What's Fred hiding? Does Kara have a secret too?
Don't worry I'm not telling you anything that will ruin the book. I will say it does seem to be written for kids but it is good I promise! The only bad thing about it is that since the author is dead she won't be able to write another book which is sad since she left the ending open for another one.
I can tell you that there is a surprise towards the end! Some might guess it but I didn't! ME! I usually come up with all kinds of twists! I NEVER suspected!
Everyone that loves adventure must read! It is different! I've never read anything like this before! Read this book!

About The Author

Bridget grew up in Wisconsin. She went to the county fair where she met the love of her life, Barrett Dowell. They got married right before she went in for exploratory surgery which revealed she had colon cancer. They christened that summer the "summer of love" and the two celebrated with several more weddings. Bridget continued to read and write until the day she died. Her last tweet was "Sunshine and a brand new book. Perfect."
Bridget wanted to make people laugh and hoped readers would enjoy spending time with the characters she created. As a librarian/writer she loved books with strong young women with aspirations. She also felt teens needed more humorous reads. She really wanted to write a book with pockets of warmth and happiness and hoped that her readers' copies would show the watermarks of many bath time reads.
When not writing young adult masterpieces or working on world domination, I spend my time cooking, traveling, making films and taking my ball gown out for trips around town.
My current secret lair resides somewhere in (shhh...) Portland, OR where I plot daring adventures with my husband and two cats.

Never Cry Werewolf Review

Title: Never Cry Werewolf

Author: Heather Davis

Book: (Never Cry Werewolf, #1)

Pages: 212

Rating: 3/5

This is a book about (SURPRISE!) a werewolf! Though it isn't bad I can't force myself to read it again no matter how hard I try. A friend of mine didn't even make it through the book!
A wicked step-mother, a closed-off father, a brat camp, and a hot rich kid. Who needs more? So you would think, right?
Shelby likes boys way too much for her own good. That is the reason she's sent to brat camp (AKA Camp Crescent) by her step-mother. She meets new friends and a good looking guy who seems different.
Austin Bridges the Third is sent to camp by mistake and it gets dangerous when the secret he's keeping threatens to come out. He never expected to tell someone his secret but he has no choice when the camp takes something from him that he needs. With Austin no longer able to control his condition Shelby helps keep him maintain his sanity.
Classic romance book that seems to be written for a ten year old despite everything that happens throughout the book. It is a short book but it seemed to go on forever. I bought it thinking it would be great but it ended up being a waste of time and money. I don't recommend this book for anyone older than thirteen.

Nobody Review

Title: Nobody

Author: Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Pages: 393

Rating: 5/5

Nobody is a great book by Jennifer Lynn Barnes the author of the Raised by Wolves Series. If you love the series you will definitely love this. The way she twists the two main characters together in a struggle to survive the Society is magnificent.
Claire is a girl no one talks to. The girl who has no friends and that no one notices. She's lived her whole life thinking if she tried hard enough that someone someday would notice her. No one has noticed her until the day Nix appears.
Nix is a mysterious boy with blue eyes but there is one problem. He has been ordered to kill Claire, by the Society. Nix discovers he was lied to. Together they discover that together they are something dangerous to the Society. Two Nobody's is all it takes to throw the society through a loop. As Claire and Nix began to rely on each other they find something more. As they fall in love the Society continues to search for the two Nobody's. Though it is hard to find a Nobody the Society won't stop till they are dead.
Claire is a relatable character that I absolutely love. Nix is the guy some girls dream of. And the Society is what destroys dreams of a future. Claire and Nix aren't nothing. Together they will fight. Together the Society is nothing. Together they are everything.
I related to these characters in many ways...except for killing and being invisible to everyone...I loved this book! It was a bit slow in parts but if you make it through them you will not be disappointed. I loved the characters and their points of view as the whole thing unfolds. It was wonderful and I loved it so much! :D

Of Triton Review

Title: Of Triton

Author: Anna Banks

Book: (Of Poseidon, #2)

Pages: 246

Rating: 2/5

Ohmysweetgoodness! This is a book you MUST skip!! I was barely able to finish it and I absolutely hated the ending! NOT supposed to happen! I'm getting ahead of myself though. Let me tell you about the characters first.
Emma is the an 18 year old girl who is half Syrena and half human. She is headstrong and when she throws a fit you better not be in her way! I like that about her! But when she's a whiny little snot she goes full out! It's ONE of the reasons I don't like her.
The other reason is Galen. A handsome Syrena Prince who discovers what Emma is. I won't spoil anything about him. Anyway they are so luvy duvy I want to bang my head against a wall! I don't care about their "laws" they should just get a room already!
I can handle Of Poseidon but the sequel is just ridiculous! Ohmyfreakingoodness!  1) Commons would NOT challenge the Royals and 2) one of my favorite person in the book gets killed off! What's up with that? Not saying who it is though I don't think anyone who has read the book expected it to happen. Don't worry too much about who dies though that isn't what makes the book the top of my must NOT read list. Don't read the book! You'll save yourself money and you'll save the memory of the 1st book Of Poseidon.
